Put on the full armor of God DAILY!

Ephesians 6:10-19 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. 19 Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, 20 for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

This Scripture says that we WILL be able to destroy everything the devil is trying to throw at us...if we are living by faith, knowing that God is protecting us at all times. Especially in families, but when there is a lot of confusion and petty arguing, we should remember that our battle is not against that person or people, but it is actually spiritual (just one example); therefore, you must defeat it in the spirit realm. In order to be ready to successfully fight this daily battle, we must put on the full armor of God. Satan is always scheming against us so we must be ready for combat at all times. We need to be able to stand firm when his attacks come...and keep standing firm. We should have a life that exemplifies truth and what we speak should be truth only. No lying, no exaggerations...just truth! Our lives should be righteous. Synonyms of righteous is: virtuous, moral, just, blameless, and honorable….an antonym of righteousness is sinful. It is possible to live a life that is virtuous and honorable. Everyone likes to say that "no one is perfect but God/Jesus"...true, yet at the same time we should be like Christ in everything we do. In many cases we may be the only "Christ" that people will see. If you are claiming to be a Christian (Christ-follower) yet you are living a sinful and impure life, you are contradicting yourself, and are being a stumbling block to those around you.
No matter what is going on around you, you should walk in peace, and it is God that gives peace. Don't forget the shield of faith...believing that God is God of all and He is your protector. He will protect you when the enemy tries to throw things your way. You will also need the helmet of salvation and sword of the Spirit...which is the Word of God. Read the Bible daily...read it for understanding. Don't substitute the Bible with other Christian literature (i.e. devotionals, books by Christian authors). They can help with understanding the word and applying it, but be sure to read and seek knowledge from the Bible first. God can actually reveal the meaning of His Word to you as you read. We should also pray in the Spirit at all times, with all kinds of prayers and requests. Be alert and aware and always pray for God's people. We as Christians should pray for each other always, continually. Stop looking for ways to discount your brother or sister in Christ and always pray for them. I challenge myself and you as well to really apply this to our lives. God gave us this Word to apply it, not to just read it and forget it. We should realize that what we may think is just an attack from another person or situation is spiritual and we should be ready...SOBER...ALERT...on guard to fight in the spirit realm.

Prayer: Thank you Father God for sending your son Jesus to die on the cross that we may live and have life more abundantly. Thank you for protecting us from every scheme of the enemy. Thank you for equipping us with everything we need to combat Satan's schemes..
